Marc van der Leeden’s paintings are seen as impressionistic expression rather than strict representation of architectural and landscape subjects. Utilizing a limited palette with graphite outlines and simplicity of design, he creates watercolors that are clearly his own.

After completing medical school, Marc van der Leeden took local art classes, but is largely a self-taught artist. In addition to actively painting, he continues to practice medicine full time. His work has been shown nationally in solo shows in New York City and Vermont, as well as internationally in Italy. He was featured in Watercolor magazine in Fall 2000, as well as a book entitled How did you paint that? 100 Ways to Paint Landscapes, Vol. 1

  1. Love the work. As a fellow watercolorist I really appreciate your dynamic work. I saw your Falling Water at Carrousel du Louvre last month, I was setting up for someone there. I hope you sold work. Glad to see some other work of yours, nice. tahnks, Lucas Kukler (www.kukler.com)
